I joined The Fitting Rooms the week before lockdown started, and assumed this would put a stop to training and kill my motivation for getting in shape. When the team announced they were going to be hosting virtual sessions I was a skeptic at first and had assumed these wouldn’t be effective, but thought I would give it a go. I was massively proved wrong. I have been really impressed at the quality of the virtual coaching and variety of exercises, and as a result have seen great results – both with my physical health but also mental health with having something to focus on and bring a sense of purpose each day during lockdown.

Now that gyms have reopened I have been doing a mixture of virtual and face-to-face sessions, and I feel I’m getting the best of both worlds. Having never lifted free weights before I was hesitant at the prospect of doing so, but the intimacy of the sessions allow the trainers to pay close attention to detail – getting your form right, ensuring that you’re challenging yourself but not pushing yourself too quickly. I’ve been able to build on the foundational strength I built through the virtual sessions, and feel much more confident and that I’m making gains more quickly.

What separates The Fitting Rooms to other gyms is how committed they are to delivering customer service – whether it’s adapting how they deliver sessions virtually or face-to-face, or creating an open environment to allow people who have different levels of experience and different goals they want to achieve, to train together.
